An 8 week introduction to EA program, where participants do 2-3 hours of reading in preparation for a 1-1.5h weekly discussion session with a facilitator.
The 8 week curriculum aims to give people a broad and up-to-date understanding of the core principles of effective altruism.
You can modify the curriculum to make it shorter or longer based on your needs.
Target audience
- This is suitable for people who are completely new to effective altruism, and who want to sign up for a more extensive program to get involved and learn about EA
- We've also included a different version of the program, developed by Swarthmore, which is aimed specifically at a liberal arts college audience
What do you need to run it?
- Programs can be a lot of work to run. You'll need someone to act as 'main organiser' to organise the logistics of the program, and you'll also need 'facilitators' to run the weekly discussion sessions
- Your facilitators will need to have a decent understanding of EA to facilitate the program
